Details: Elk Grove Township has an Emergency Food Pantry for township residents, which they can utilize once every other month. We stock non-perishable items of canned and dry foods to residents facing a food shortage, through donations received from the community. Cash donations are used for the purchase of meat. We also disburse personal essentials when they are available. Our pantry is open Monday through Friday 9:00 to 3:30. To register you must provide: Driver’s license or State ID for each adult, proof of residence (current electric bill or lease with your name) and proof of all household income for previous 30 days.

Details: The Township Food Pantry is supported by Township Residents, churches, youth groups, schools, community and civic organizations. Although we are not equipped to supplement food allowances on an ongoing basis, recipients may receive support two times per month. Food orders are available to township residents who may have been burdened with other expenses that are imposing a financial hardship on their budgets. Anyone requesting our help may receive food on a temporary basis until their situation improves. Food Baskets distributed over the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays to townshhip residents in need are prepared from the food that is donated to the food pantry. Many groups and individuals have been of great assistance in this community wide project by organizing food drives during the holiday season. The food pantry is located in the township offices at 37908 N. Fairfield Rd. and is open Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Currently, the food pantry is experiencing record level demand each week. The food pantry does not operate on tax dollars but solely on donations from our community. One interesting idea that the Township is implementing is our "Adopt A Food Item" program where you, your family, or your organization can adopt a particular food/foods and make a commitment to donating that specific food to our pantry.

Details: The Food Pantry is open by appointment only to qualified residents of New Trier Township, which includes the villages of Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, and Glencoe, plus portions of Glenview and Northfield. The Pantry is located at the Township Office, 739 Elm Street in Winnetka. Established in 1965, the New Trier Township Food Pantry serves as a bridge between those who have the ability to give and those who are in need. Through donations from the community and volunteer efforts the shelves are stocked with a variety of canned and packaged food, frozen foods, useful paper goods, and toiletry items. A freezer is stocked with vegetables, meat, poultry, and nutritious frozen dinners. In order to qualify for assistance, a social worker meets with the individual making the request and determines if they are eligible for assistance. At that time, the social worker can also inform the individual of other assistance programs.

Vernon Township Food Pantry operates during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for food distribution and accepts donations Monday through Friday 9:00a.m. to 3:30p.m. Individuals and families that show a need and live within the township boundaries are eligible to use the food pantry.
