Details: The Hands and Feet ministry is a ministry of our church that includes a food pantry and clothes closet. It is operated out the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is the old Memorial Chapel funeral home, located directly north of our worship center. The third Thursday of every month at 4-5:30PM we distribute food to residents of Smith County who are in need of assistance. The first and third Saturday of each month the clothes closet is open from 8AM until Noon.

Details: In 2013, local pastors and community leaders came together in a common desire to serve the needy and the lost in our community. Our services are provided completely by volunteers from the community and local area churches. We are a multi-denominational Christian outreach ministry who believes we should be the hands and feet of Christ each and every day. Current services include a food pantry, clothing closet, pregnancy crisis testing center, and immediate needs assistance.We also partner with Byhalia Elementary and Middle School to provide food backpacks to children in need each week. Current hours: Tuesday 12:00-2:00 pm, Thursday 4:00-6:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00-11:00 am.

Details: IONA House is a food pantry owned and operated by St. Columb’s. This ministry was begun by a group of St. Columb’s parishioners in 1986 in response to the Bishop’s request that the Episcopal Church reach out to hungry neighbors. IONA House currently provides groceries for 50-80 families every week. Open only on Fridays, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., volunteers and donations of food and money are always welcome.

Details: Jackson Revival Center Church, Inc. is a participant in the Mississippi Food Network, whose purpose is to help non-profit agencies provide and/or meet the emergency feeding needs of families throughout the state of Mississippi. The target families are those that are homeless, impoverished or affected by unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. The Pastor, having a heart of compassion for God's created being, has taken the feeding program further. We now have the Jackson Revival Center Food Outreach located at 1616 Robinson Street. In addition to ministering to physical needs with a box of groceries, there are people on hand to pray for and minister to their spiritual needs as well as those that are in need of counsel. To be a recipient of what the program offers, there must be a legitimate need. An appointment must be made by calling the JRC Food Outreach at 948-3618 between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Mondays.

We receive food provided by Mississippi Food Network and everyone must qualify according to Mississippi regulations. Details: MadCAAP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting families living in poverty in Madison County MS. MadCAAP was founded in 1985 by Sister Grace Mary McGuire who assembled some citizens concerned about the needs of the large population of people living in poverty in Madison County. Through the first few years, MadCAAP realized that education, housing and emergency assistance were the biggest needs; so we developed programs accordingly. These programs have continued to expand over the past 30 years. In 2015, MadCAAP serves over 1,500 families and operates a Clothing Closet, Food Pantry, Housing Repair and Krista Cottage Program, Helping Hands Garden and New Attitudes Classes.

Details: For several years now McLaurin Heights UMC has maintained a food pantry on site. We serve over 2,000 people per year, donating over 50 lbs of food per family per month. Our volunteers are happy to serve the mission of the food pantry, which is: To relieve poverty related to hunger in our service area by distributing donated and purchased food products from our church family and the MS Food Network. Our food comes from the MS Food Network, food drives from local church and school groups and is bought through donations received. The food pantry operates three days a week (Tue-Thur). People can call 601-939-2163 on Tue or Wed between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.for pickup on the following day. There are NO walk-ins accepted.
