Details: The Five Corner Cupboard is the only food pantry in East Windsor. It was started in 1973 as a mission of our church and is run totally by volunteers from this and other area churches. Recipients are by referral, only. The Pantry is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings and one evening per month, on the third Friday. The pantry is supported by the townspeople during our fall food drive conducted by the area Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the spring food drive by the Warehouse Point and Broad Brook Letter Carriers, as well as many businesses, civic organizations, clubs, neighborhoods and individuals. In December, 2012 the pantry became a partner agency with Foodshare, the food bank which serves Hartford and Tolland counties. MISSION STATEMENT: The Five Corner Cupboard, which is housed at the First Congregational Church of East Windsor, is a Christian based, ecumenical food pantry whose mission is to provide supplemental food and hygiene items to people in need who are referred by the East Windsor Human Services Department. We provide this service in a loving, compassionate, non discriminatory, non judgmental environment. |

Details: Community donations of non-perishable food items allow emergency assistance to residents throughout the year. During the holiday season, we provide food and gifts to low and moderate income families to brighten their holidays. The Food Bank is open Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., and is located in the back of Saint Ann's Church (corner of West Avon Road and Arch Road). Details: Care & Share of East Lyme, Inc. provides food, financial and emergency support to individuals and families in East Lyme/Niantic and Salem, Connecticut. As an all-volunteer organization, Care & Share operates a year-round food pantry (including paper, household and cleaning products) and delivers bread and seasonal food baskets to local residents. It also provides emergency financial, housing and energy assistance, camperships, scholarships, and emergency snacks and clothing to local school children. Over the December holidays, we support the community with a winter coat program, special food baskets, gift baskets and a gift store where families may shop free of charge for Christmas or Chanukah. |

Details: Since the early 1970’s, CCA has made a food pantry available to families with children, senior citizens and people with disabilities in the Hill section of New Haven, Connecticut. Over the years we have served more than 50,000 people. Starting in the spring of 2001, we have offered a "Client Choice" Program. Food pantry participants are given the opportunity to "shop" for their food items rather than receiving a pre-made bag. CCA maintains membership with the Connecticut Food Bank. |

Details: Established by a small group of volunteers at the Old Stone Church in 1985. Serves 340 families or over one thousand individuals who receive 8,500 food items per month. Provides a 3 day emergency food supply to East Haven residents in need. Currently run by 30 dedicated volunteers who shop, stock shelves and distribute and deliver food. The majority of their food resources come from the donations by residents of East Haven.
