- Description: Grace’s Food Pantry is one of the largest in Springfield, feeding about 15, 000 - 20,000 people a year. Our mission is “to feed hungry people by soliciting and judiciously distributing food and grocery products through a nationwide network of certified affiliate food banks.†The pantry is operated by volunteers and relies on donations from our members and other area churches to continue our mission. We assist people in emergencies, and families and individuals are referred by Contact Ministry, a church, or an approved agency. Each family may receive assistance once every thirty days. Each day the shelves in the pantry are stocked full and by day’s end, the shelves are very bare. It takes a remarkable amount of time, energy and grocery products to keep the pantry full. We have more than 50 volunteers, each working 2 hours or more per week totaling more than 5,200 hours annually. Food Pantry: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 11:00 am – 2:30 pm; Wednesday: 11:00 – 1:00 pm
