All of our services are provided free-of-charge. The Inn was established in 1955 by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay service organization dedicated to helping the poor; the Inn was named in honor of Frederick Ozanam, who founded the Society in 1852.

Thousands of hungry people have passed through our doors. A week's supply of groceries is distributed to needy families and individuals on an emergency basis. Many families and individuals have benefited from our in-house food bank. LWCSS realizes that handouts are not the answer but often times this gestures is the door opener to positively affecting peoples lives.

The Food Pantry of New Orleans is a full service Food Pantry and Hot Meal distribution center targeting both the children and the elderly of New Orleans East. We excited to have Giving HOPE and Second Harvest work together to open and operate a much needed resource in New Orleans East.
