- Description: The St. James Food Pantry has grown tremedously since its beginning in 2008. As we enter fall 2014, the monthly food distribution draws approximately 500 families and provides enough food to feed nearly 1600 people. The food pantry is always held on the third Wednesday of the month, with the exception of December. There is no distribution in December. Clients are invited into the sanctuary beginning at 4:00 PM. As clients enter they must present a suitable picture I.D., proof of address, and proof of the number of people living in the household (birth certificates, social security cards, medical cards.) Lottery numbers from 1-300 are given to clients as they enter and are used to determine the order in which they will be called into the Community Room to select food. Pre-packaged bags of food are given to those who do not receive a lottery number. Food distribution begins at 5:00 PM. Because this can be a very long evening, it is highly encouraged that alternative care be found for young children.
