  • Description: New Opportunities of Greater Meriden (NOGM) runs Operation Pantry, a food bank, which provides a three-day supply of non-perishable foods to more than 150 needy Meriden residents at designated intervals. Recipients may receive this benefit once every two to three months. The food pantry is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 1:30pm by appointment only. Those seeking food may make an appointment by phone or by visiting New Opportunities Meriden office any day of the week between 9am and 5pm. Both English and Spanish are spoken. Distribution of food allotments is dependent on the available supply. Donations of non-perishable food items are accepted during normal business hours. While there is no fee for Pantry services, potential customers must offer proof of residency; the Social Security number for each member of their household; and income verification.
