Comment from Mj family: I like others in need go to this particular pantry for some extra support as I have 3 growing children and do NOT receive assistance of any kind.i have always had pleasant visits here and they are a wonderful help.this last time I went though I was embarrassed because we have no vehicle and drove my step sons Cadillac escalade here to get some food.walking is very hard with a wagon and 3 kids.the woman working inside spoke out in front of about 10 others asking about the Cadillac sitting outside and who came in it.i said it was my husband waiting for me.she then said in a smerk way "a Cadillac and your coming here" I felt very discriminated and quite a few of the others being helped spoke to me and said how wrong she was for announcing me out like she had done.then again today on April 4th I revisited even though I was hesitant but the woman was not their. My husband and I go to the pantry one to 2 times a month as needed.their was a gentleman working that told us we had not been at all that month as far as he could see.i received a phone call on my house phone and the same women that embarrassed me was on the other end and said that she was calling to notify me of us abusing the food pantry privilege. I do not understand is what I said and she said we had came 3 times and she would terminate us from going if it happened again. I don't recall this and I apologized for our mistake but really the mistake must have been on their end. Why did they serve us instead of say you have been here already I'm sorry.i do not think we went 3 times. I do not keep track usually that is their job.i will never go back their because of the embarrassment and discrimination I received even though all other workers their are very kind and genuine.i am a mother of 3 children. I do NOT receive any kind of assistance.i work 2 jobs as does my husband.and ends are still hard to meet at times.it is very inconvenient that I received this treatment.i also manage a building with my husband that is located across the road from the woman that runs the food pantry operation.and when I've gone in before she has made fun of people in the building I manage saying oh it's the first their all coming over here (whatever that means)this is an unprofessional place to go.i suggest other places if you can find one. I myself am new to the area and do not have any means of transportation nor know another pantry to go to.this really breaks my heart.and to top it off when she said all this I had all 3 of my children ages 3 ,5,and 9.i feel let down and all she could say was well I'm sorry your feelings were hurt....god bless all those in need and I hope and pray you receive better treatment then we did.its very unfortunate that we had to suffer from this.
