- Description: For over 40 years, Gaithersburg HELP has provided local families in need with basic needs assistance in a coordinated fashion. You may be eligible to receive a 3-5 day supply of food from our Food Pantry. Gaithersburg HELP provides food services to Gaithersburg area residents, by appointment-only. Clients generally can pick up food 12 times in a 12-month period with a flexible pickup schedule. We strive to provide nutritious meals and household supplies to our recipients. Here is a list of items that are typically included in a food package: Cereal, Canned or jar goods (beans, jelly, fruit, chicken, peanut butter, soup, spaghetti sauce, tuna, vegetables), Non-refrigerated juices (apple and other juices in plastic containers), Toilet paper, Bread, Eggs, Margarine/Butter, Cheese, Bar soap. Note: Dietary or special requests are honored when possible; clients with infants also receive rice cereal and baby food; clients residing in motels receive can openers and disposable utensils and plates, if needed.
