• Description: Our hunger relief program often means the difference between a family having enough to eat and a family doing without sufficient nutrition. We help hundreds of Jewish families throughout Chicago feed their children with dignity. Food pantry – over 1,000 individuals a month – and twice that number during the holidays - shop free of charge for the kosher food products they need most. Emergency food distribution – monthly food packages for those unable to shop at the pantry. Food vouchers – gift cards to major supermarkets so clients can purchase food without embarrassment or stigma. “Shearis Haplate” – We collect leftover food from special events and distribute it to those in need. Produce Distribution – Fresh fruits and vegetables are available at two community-based locations each week. Challah for Shabbos – Bakery challahs are distributed to families in need every Friday. We are a proud member-partner of the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
