Loaves and Fishes Ministry of Macon, Inc.
Macon, GA 31201
478.741.1007
Details: Loaves and Fishes is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, originally started in the basement of Tattnall Square Presbyterian Church 45 years ago. It started small as a food and clothing ministry. 15 years later, we acquired our first house and began providing shelter to homeless men. We serve the community by offering and delivering many human services such as case management to assist individuals and families as they transition from learned helplessness to learned resourcefulness. We partner with other area service providers and community agencies to ensure that programs and services are accessible and deliverable to those who have been confronted by life’s unfavorable circumstances. Without help from our donors and volunteers, none of this would be possible. By supporting our mission, you are taking a stand against the epidemic of homelessness in our region.

The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank solicits, transports, sorts, stores, and distributes millions of pounds of food every year to the needy, hungry, and homeless in Middle Georgia through its participating 501(c)(3) charitable, nonprofit agencies in 24 counties of Middle Georgia. Through this service and its in-house programs, the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank is a vital link in the distribution of food, saving agencies millions of dollars in food costs that can be used in their programs for the needy.
Mulberry Street United Methodist Church - Macon Outreach
Macon, GA 31202

Details: Following the example of Jesus, the mission of Macon Outreach at Mulberry is to address physical and spiritual hunger, enhance human dignity, and offer hope for the future to disadvantaged people in Macon and surrounding communities. In March 1971, a group of United Methodist Women responded to their changing community by creating a second floor clothing bank at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Macon Outreach at Mulberry mushroomed from that small mission project to a leadership role in Macon and middle Georgia. As a composite approach to ministry, Macon Outreach offers both immediate assistance and long-term hope. Our basic emphasis remains in service to the hungry and those in need. We draw from a broad base of donations and volunteer strength throughout middle Georgia. These resources are focused in two areas: Ministries of Service and Ministries of Support. The services offered by Macon Outreach include: the Downtown Kitchen, Clothing Shop, grocery pantry, prison library, homeless prevention, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds, and work assistance.
