Details: The RTBC Food Pantry was founded in 1999 by several ladies from RTBC. It operated from a closet in the church kitchen, serving 15-12 families each month. Now, the pantry operates the first Saturday each month, serving over 250 households. The pantry is open to church families as well as the local community. More than sixty volunteers serve on the various pantry days. As part of Riva Trace's benevolence ministry, the Food Pantry: provides emergency food bags in addition to the Saturday pantry days. All funds come from offering donations. While a portion of the food we give away each month is free to us from the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, the majority of food given away is purchased at a reduced amount from the Maryland Food Bank. Each month more and more families appear for food assistance. It is our goal at Riva Trace to serve everyone who comes in need of food.
