Description:
Our food bank ministry has been growing since we began in 2003. Project New Start’s food bank fed approximately 2,800 families in 2010. There are a growing number of families in our communities, cities and surrounding areas who are having to choose between paying bills, buying food or paying for medical expenses. Many of these families have the head of the household unemployed or disabled. Many of these people are the elderly living on a small or fixed income. Some of these individuals and families have made unselfish contributions to our community. It is so very important to keep our pantries full because the need is so great. Many families in our area do not get enough food to provide the nutrients for fully productive and active lives. No one should have to go to bed hungry. Every Saturday, Project New Start operates it’s food bank. As it is written in Matthew 25, “it is our charge as disciples of Jesus, to feed the hungryâ€. We give as much as we can to help out those who are hungry and without. It is such a joy to see a little child smile when they see a sweet snack in their bags and it is a real blessing to know the food we give will help someone not to go hungry.
