Description:
The Southern Maryland Food Bank has been proudly serving the Southern Maryland area of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties since 1983. The Southern Maryland Food Bank was established to provide a local resource center for bulk food. With this came the opportunity to open our doors to pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and group homes serving those at risk in the Southern Maryland area. As the need for assistance has grown over the years, the Southern Maryland Food Bank has worked hard to expand it's memberships, services and products to meet the continuing and increasing needs of our valued members, partners and communities. We are furthering this effort by expanding our program to include our new Snack Sak Project, Senior Care Cases, Food Hotline, Food Policy Council and Agricultural Endeavors. Our core goal of meeting the basic and essential needs of families and individuals by providing food is a priority each and every day at the Southern Maryland Food Bank. Our mission is to Ease the Pain of Hunger and we do that with the firm belief that Together, We CAN Make a Difference. The Southern Maryland Food Bank is a program of Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Washington DC.
