Description:
The Southborough Food Pantry was started in 1990 by The United Parishes of Southborough. The mission of the pantry is to help our neighbors and church parishioners who are struggling to provide meals for their families. The United Parishes of Southborough Inc. members are Pilgrim Church, St. Matthew Church, St. Anne Church, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and First Community Church. The Southborough Food Pantry is located in Pilgrim Congregational Church, 15 Common St., Southborough, MA. The Pantry door is at the rear corner opposite the ancient cemetery. We are open: Tuesday evenings 7 - 8 p.m., Friday mornings 10 - 11 a.m. We always try to maintain an assortment of the basic foods as well as items not available with food stamps, such as paper goods and personal care items. There are often refrigerated and frozen foods as well. There are quantity limits and monthly-only items based on availability. Clients may shop once a week. You will be requested to provide certain information about yourself, your family situation, your income status and your shopping needs. We are partnered with the Worcester County Food Bank in Shrewsbury. A condition of this partnership is that a certain level of information is required of us about our clients. You will be requested to sign in on each visit. Our volunteers strive to maintain a level of confidentiality for our shoppers. Your name and family information will never be openly divulged. If you ever have concerns about this issue please speak to one of our volunteers. We hope that if you have the need to shop with us that you find our facility acceptable and the atmosphere friendly. Southborough residents and parishioners of the five member churches are welcome. Some identification and proof of eligibility may be required. For member church parishioners who live out of Southborough, an-out-of townwaiver form, signed by your priest, minister or the Food Pantry Coordinator is required.
