- Description: St. John’s is widely known for its outreach to the community—for sharing God’s love and our lives by seeking and serving the people of Greater Lafayette and beyond. For decades, St. John’s has supported a food pantry to support those who are hungry in Greater Lafayette. In 1991, St. John’s partnered with Lafayette Urban Ministry to create the St. John's LUM/Food Pantry, now one of the largest food pantries in the area. In 2013 alone, the St. John’s/LUM Food Pantry gave out food to nearly 10,000 individuals. The pantry is open 5 days a week including Saturday. On Saturdays during the summer, the Pantry partners with the area’s Veggie Drop to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables from the local farmer’s Market. The St. John's\LUM Food Pantry is located at the corner of Ferry and 6th Streets. Look for the green awning. The St. John's/LUM Food Pantry Hours: Monday 9:00 AM-11:30 AM, Tuesday 9:00 AM-11:30 AM, Wednesday CLOSED, Thursday 9:00 AM-11:30 AM, Friday 9:00 AM-11:30 AM, Saturday 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.
