Description:: In 1992, a small group of neighbors got together to see if they could find a way to help people when times got tough, when there was illness, when there was no food on their table, or when someone needed clothes. Today, the dream of those founders is a reality thanks to the hard work of the Board of Directors, staff, and many volunteers working together to help our friends and neighbors in need. Indeed, the Idyllwild HELP Center currently services the needs of more than 600 people, and the dream to help even more people is still alive and well. When grant funding is available, the Idyllwild HELP Center issues food vouchers to qualified clients. The vouchers are good at Fairway Market in Idyllwild. The amount of the voucher depends on the size of the family served. The vouchers allow clients to purchase fresh, perishable food items that we do not carry in our Food Pantry. From our Food Pantry, qualifying clients can receive a bag of food (enough to feed their family for five days) once every week.
