Description:: The mission and purpose of the Alton Community Services: shall be to provide relief ï»¿of the poor, the distressed or underprivileged throughout Alton and the surrounding area by meeting their physical and spiritual needs through the provision of food,clothing, furniture or referral services to other charitable organizations,local churches, and federal, state, and local government sponsored assistance programs. Located at Village Place across from Profile Bank in Downtown Alton. Through the generous donations of the business community,churches,civic organizations and the citizens of Alton, the Alton Food Pantry provides fresh fruits,vegetables, meats and baked goods, as well as non-perishable food items every Saturday 8:00AM to 11:00 AM and by appointment.
