Description:: GEDCO's North East Food Pantry serves individuals in crisis by connecting customers with emergency food relief that will enable movement towards self-sufficiency. The heart and compassion of this entirely volunteer-run program drives them to ensure that everyone leaves with food. In 1982, when an Ad Hoc committee realized the great need within their community for additional emergency food resources for families and individuals with low incomes, they opened the North East Food Pantry. The North East Food Pantry is open five days a week, Monday-Friday from 10:30am-1:30pm. Not only are there hours widespread, but they are unique to the Hamilton, Arcadia and Harbel neighborhoods (212 zipcodes) in northeast Baltimore City. NE Food Pantry belongs to the MD Food Banks' Network Partners Area Councils (NPAC), which connects food banks so that they may share challenges and solutions with one another.
