Description:: LOAVES AND FISHES MINISTRIES was founded in 1983 when a local congregation began distributing food to those in need from the back porch of their church. As needs increased the distribution point transferred to a larger building two years later. The ministry expanded and started distributing donated clothing to families in need, provided temporary shelter, and served hot meals to the homeless. In 1997, Loaves & Fishes Ministries rented warehouse space for the distribution center and leased hotel rooms for the homeless. In 2000 we moved into our current purposed-built building where our offices, food bank, clothing warehouse, and homeless shelter are located.
