- Description: Begun in 1986, our Community Luncheon ministry serves a free, well-balanced meal to hungry people Mondays and Fridays, 52 weeks a year including most holidays. Donations of time, money and food come from members, other congregations and the community. In 2016 he volunteer team served 17,041 meals to an average of 70-90 adults and children, with the number increasing during the holidays. A short devotional and prayer are offered before each meal, and special Christmas candlelight meal clearly shares the Gospel. Periodically over the winter we offer warm articles of clothing and blankets donated by schools, churches and caring individuals. In addition to receiving a complete meal, guests socialize and receive assistance in finding agencies to meet other needs.
