- Description: Last year, staff and volunteers provided groceries to thousands of hungry people, feeding an average of 8,409 people each month. We distribute grocery bags consisting of a three-day supply of food adjusted to household size. Eligible clients are residents of the District of Columbia, have incomes of 200% or less of the federal poverty line, and are either elderly, disabled, or families with dependent children. Eligible clients may receive three days worth of food each month, picking up at either center. Our food pantry is open Mon-Thurs 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-noon.
