Details: WCCA operates the only county-wide emergency food shelf in Wright County from the Family Service Center in Waverly. The Food Shelf provides a 1 month supply of food for families in need. We also provide emergency food boxes in which offer the 4 day supply of food in the instance that our families in need were unable to get to the food shelf or simply in need of quick access to a food supply to get by for a few days. In addition to addressing the immediate emergency need for food, WCCA assists residents to access other more long term services that will help to assure the family has adequate resources in the future to provide for nutrition and other basic needs. Routinely, a self declaration of income and the nature of the family emergency are requested at the time of service. The ongoing operation of the WCCA Food Shelf is made possible with donations from a broad range of community groups, organizations and individuals. |
