Details: Since 1974, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas’ Emergency Assistance Program has played a significant role in the community’s safety net for people of all faiths. Services provided meet the immediate, basic survival needs of families with low incomes while staff members also help clients identify long-term solutions that lead to self-sufficiency.The program’s goal is to ensure families' and individuals' basic needs are met - having enough food to prevent going to bed hungry; rent money to avoid eviction and homelessness; water to bathe in or prepare food; electricity to run a refrigerator and lights; and gas to heat their homes and cook. The Program operates at the organization’s Emergency Assistance Centers. All centers are located in fully accessible buildings where clients may walk-in or make an appointment. Some services are available in Lawrence. There are no fees for services provided. |

Details: We have a food pantry that is second to none! We give out food to people in need on Tuesday & Thursday from 10:30 am - 2:00 pm. You may visit our pantry once every thirty days, anyone is welcome. The RMI Food Pantry is located @ Family of God Church, 1231 NW Eugene, Topeka, KS 66608, (785) 234-1111. Details: A place where people with mental illness can come to rebuild their lives as part of a community of mutual support. As one member put it, “It’s a good place to get yourself well.†The BTH Clubhouse is the flagship of Breakthrough House programs. It is one of more than three hundred clubhouse programs operating in 24 countries around the world. The participants are called members, not patients, and the focus is on their strengths, not their illness. The environment is a welcoming one, where a member is missed when absent, and where the community pulls together for support should a member suffer a setback. Work and other activities in the clubhouse are designed to improve each member’s quality of life by providing organized weekday daytime and evening support. Meals are served at Noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The Clubhouse is closed on Wednesdays each week. Clubhouse is open from noon to 4pm On the Thanksgiving, Christmas holiday. All meals are free and open to the community. On holidays only one meal is served at 1:00 PM. |
