Details: The Main Street Mission, Inc. (MSMI) has been the only facility feeding the hungry in Pope, Yell, Johnson, Conway, Perry and Logan counties of Arkansas. We are one of the prime locations that provide food boxes at no charge to people unable to care for themselves because of financial problems. Our food boxes provide a week’s worth of groceries. In 2009 we provided 9,508 food boxes which helped 18, 672 adults and 12,408 children. We also provided clothing, furniture and appliances to 2, 360 families in 2009, which helped 3,547 adults and 2,380 children. Our facilities consist of 4.7 acres of land. A 3300 square-foot office building, 19,600 square-foot warehouse and a 2500 square-foot new kitchen that is not finished yet. We receive donations of clothing, furniture, and appliances for distribution to persons in financial need at no charge to them. We offer hope, friendship, encouragement, and Christian love to the hungry, homeless, and poor. We receive large gifts of all types of food from Con-Agra Frozen Foods, Kroger Grocery Stores, Tyson Foods Inc and Wal-Mart Distribution Center and distribute it, not only to the hungry in the River Valley, but also to about 65 other non-profit organizations in Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma at no charge.
