Our Vision: To eliminate hunger. Placer Food Bank is the leading hunger-relief charity in Placer, El Dorado and Nevada counties. We serve as the primary food collection and distribution center for hunger-relief efforts in our area, distributing fresh and non-perishable food to the hungry through our network of more than 60 local hunger-relief and charitable organizations. Placer Food Bank is the only local hunger-relief organization, and one of only 210 food banks nationwide, to be a certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. We’re also a proud member of the California Association of Food Banks. |

Details: Every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, Helping Hands is open to distribute food and clothing to those in need. A dedicated team of people go throughout the week and pick-up food from various places and get everything bagged and ready for Wednesdays. They also get food bags ready for Adopt-A-Block to distribute every Saturday and the gather food for the bus lunches each week. Every year they also distribute Christmas Baskets to needy families as well. |

Details: Compassion Planet’s first food closet is called Share the Harvest. At this Roseville site, we’ve been able to network with the Placer Food Bank, local businesses, and U.S.D.A. to reach Placer County residents. Joining together a team of over 75 volunteers, we gave over 13,000 bags of groceries and other necessities to thousands of families this past year. Share the Harvest Food Closet is open every Tuesday at 4:30 PM to families in need. |
