Details: People having difficulty stretching their budgets to cover food costs can receive fresh and non-perishable once a month at QCAP’s Emergency Food Center (EFC). The EFC has a large walk-in refrigerator and freezer and stocks many fresh foods that people need for good nutrition. EFC staff also provide help to connect households to other QCAP and community services that will help them make ends meet. Special Holiday Food orders are given four times a year at Thanksgiving, Christmas/Chanukah, Easter/Passover and Asian New Year. Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM; Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (No morning appointments on Wednesdays). Cities/Towns Served: Braintree, Milton, Quincy, Weymouth and surrounding communities.

Details: Our food pantry is the only one on the South Shore that regularly delivers free groceries directly to the homes of the hungry. Each year, this “food pantry on wheels” serves over 1,300 elderly, disabled shut-ins, and others who cannot access other food pantries.

Details: One of Greater Boston’s largest food pantries, Interfaith Social Services’ Pantry Shelf has been providing emergency food to families and individuals since 1975. Last year volunteers distributed over 750,000 pounds of food to hungry families. Much of the food distributed through the pantry is donated by caring individuals, businesses, houses of worship, and other organizations. We also pickup produce, meat and baked goods daily from various local Supermarkets. A large percentage of the food we distribute comes from the Greater Boston Food Bank. In addition, we purchase fresh produce from a local wholesaler. The Pantry Shelf also operates various seasonal initiatives for the children of families who depend on our food pantry. Last year The Pantry Shelf assisted over 18,000 South Shore residents. Regular pantry hours are 10:00 am-11:45 am Monday- Friday. Additional hours are available by appointment: every first and third Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Details: The Germantown Neighborhood Center Food Pantry has been providing low-income households in the City of Quincy with fresh and non-perishable foods since April 2006. We understand that the need for food is becoming greater for so many families and we are doing our best to help. Our Food Pantry allows us to assist with the food aspect of trying to maintain a household by providing households with a week's worth of groceries. We are able to provide critical support to hundreds of families each month. We are open year-round 2 mornings and one evening a week to accommodate different schedules. Hours of Operation: Wednesday and Friday 8:30a.m-12:00 p.m and Wednesday evenings 4:00-6:00 p.m. Registration Requirements: Photo ID; Proof of Residency (ex: lease, certified letter from Landlord, real estate tax, etc.); Proof of Income (ex: W-2, pay stubs, unemployment letter, social security letter). If children's names aren't on the lease please provide a school record, income taxes, or SSI statement.
