St. Catherine Food Pantry
Kapaa, HI 96746
808.635.0552
Details: The people of Kauai are one Ohana. The Saint Catherine Food Pantry provides food so that no one in our family goes hungry. We work to gather food and then distribute it to those in need. Our mission is from Jesus to feed the hungry and we will fulfill our mission with integrity, compassion and aloha. The Saint Catherine Food Pantry opened their doors in February 2010. The volunteers feed anyone that comes to the St. Catherine PLC looking for food and attests to meeting the USDA financial guidelines. The Pantry also delivers food to 3-5 beaches in Kapaa and people without transportation. The Food Pantry provides food to an average 350 people a week, of which 30-35% are children and 15-20% are served at the Kapaa beaches or outreach (delivery). There are about 40 active and compassionate volunteers who make the Food Pantry program possible. Collectively they put in 60-70 hours per week. Our goal is to help people maintain their dignity and improve their living situation. We generated a two sided sheet with over 60 helpful agency’s contact information. The Food Pantry also partnered with Ho’ola Lahui Medical whom accompanies us to the beaches and is present at the food distribution so clients can have access to medical, dental and financial assistance. The Food Pantry is 100% financially self-sufficient with generous donors and grants. Please consider supporting this important ministry financially or with any un-opened food items.
