Today we provide food assistance to over 100,000 people in North Alabama through a network of over 200 agencies. Food Bank of North Alabama has a two-fold mission: (1) We procure, warehouse and distribute food in support of North Alabama’s needy, ill and children. (2) We are also proactively committed to finding solutions to help end hunger and poverty. In following our mission, we respond to the needs of people in crisis by providing emergency food assistance. We also pursue proactive initiatives that go beyond charity to address the root causes of hunger and poverty through improvements to our local food system. We envision a North Alabama with thriving family farms, a healthy population and a strong local food economy where no one goes hungry.
