Details: The Healdsburg Food Pantry is a 100% volunteer-based, not-for-profit 501(C)(3) service organization, founded in 1980 and supported by generous donations from our community. The Pantry's mandate is to collect, store, and distribute food to those in need. Anyone who is a resident of Geyserville or Healdsburg, CA is eligible and welcome to receive food. Currently, bags are filled with groceries and given out to over 2,800 predominately working people monthly. The needs have grown by 66% since 2008 due to the downturn in the economy. A visit on any distribution day will find lines of people including individuals, families with children, households of adults, the homeless and low-income Seniors. Specially prepared Christmas food baskets provide an extra bit of cheer during the holidays. In addition to food distribution from the Pantry location, twice a month 30 grocery bags of food are delivered to the Healdsburg Senior Center. Once a month, a USDA program provides food to be delivered to Fitch Mountain Terraces, a low-income, senior housing project. |
