Details: The mission of Loaves and Fishes is to reduce hunger in our area through the distribution of food, information, and conversation without regard to religious affiliation, town boundaries, or ethnic background, recognizing all people's dignity and equality before God. To this effect, we dispense food and other goods to those who request our help or are brought to our attention by other agencies. On any given Wednesday, Loaves and Fishes serves 55-95 households. We are staffed almost entirely by volunteers. During the holidays, we offer help with turkey dinners and gifts for kids. Please contact the Director if you have questions regarding these programs. Loaves and Fishes is a tax-exempt, charitable 501(c)(3) agency. To meet the needs of our clients, we must rely on the kindness and generosity of donors and volunteers, many who come to us through local schools, civic organizations, businesses, and other churches. We also seek out grants and other larger donations from businesses and philanthropic organizations. |
