  • Description: WESTMINSTER FAMILY AND ADULT SERVICES programming includes the food pantry and soup kitchen, clothing closet, health clinic and Christmas Baskets program. The food pantry is open each Thursday morning from 9:30-11:30 (doors opening at 8:30) for those who qualify for assistance. Staffed by hard-working volunteers, approximately 60 families per week (average of 4 people per family) receive food items for their family. A total of 650+ people are served monthly by the food pantry. Thirty percent of those served by WNS' food pantry are under 18 years old and 5 percent are over 60 years old. During food pantry hours, Westminster works with the Gennesaret Free Health Clinic to provide medical care to some 15 to 20 clients weekly. GFC offers a first point of access to the health care system for the families in the Westminster and Holy Cross neighborhoods. Westminster's soup kitchen provides a nutritional, light breakfast and hot nutritional lunch to some 120 homeless and low-income adults, children and families in our community every Thursday from 8:30 to 11 a.m. All meals are provided by Second Helpings and Panera Bread and served by our volunteers. The soup kitchen provides meals to our guests in a friendly, non-threatening atmosphere. There are no eligibility requirements.
