We serve nearly 300 people â€“ men, women, and children â€“ every single day. We accomplish our mission with the help of the community: volunteers who donate time, individuals and businesses who donate money, and businesses, organizations, and people who donate food and goods. Without their help, we could not help the people who need it most. Meals are prepared and served each day by volunteer groups from churches, social organizations, businesses, and individuals who assist a small staff. Without these volunteers the Good Samaritan Inn would be unable to fulfill its mission and 300 people each day would go hungry. Anyone who is hungry, anyone who needs a meal can come to our table. The meal is served from 11:30a.m.-1:00p.m. daily at 920 North Union Street in Decatur, Illinois, 62521.

An increasing number of people in our community are without food, some for the first time in their lives. For those of all ages who confront hunger, solutions must be found. Our food pantry staff help with immediate problems as well as search for solutions for the future. Donations of food, time, and money are necessary for this program to carry out the agency's on-going response to hunger. In 2013, our food pantries served 113,445 clients.

We provide edible assistance to hundreds of families from the Decatur area each week. The Food Pantry is open each Monday (except certain holidays) from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

We hope to be able to supplement the food needs of those who are coming up short of their monthly food needs. We serve each family once every 30 days, on Mondays from 5-7pm. The Food Pantry is located at New Vision Church.
