Details: Our Daily Bread Community Kitchen, which serves breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday and provides a sack meal on the weekends. Annually, our program provides more than 60,000 nutritious meals with gracious hospitality to men, women and children in need and offers a gateway to other transformational services. Partnering with more than 70 volunteer groups, Our Daily Bread in Athens has served meals seven days per week, 365 days per year since 1989.

Details: AIDS Athens strives to help our clients secure the essential tools necessary to live positively with the disease. In addition to shelter and counseling, nourishment is a key component to this objective. Good nutrition can help slow the progress of the disease, manage symptoms, improve the response to drug therapy and increase the overall quality of life by improving daily functioning. To that end, AIDS Athens operates a food pantry for eligible clients.

Details: The AAEFB's purpose is to meet the food needs for one week for families or individuals who live in Athens-Clarke County who are faced with emergencies upon referral by an approved agency. A family is entitled to another week's supply within six months, again with an approved referral. It is not the purpose of this agency to duplicate the services of any existing church or governmental agency, but to supplement and coordinate where desirable.

Details: Cornerstone’s Emergency Food Pantry provides free food for needy families in Athens. Volunteers set up appointments by phone to meet with families and distribute grocery items as well as pick up and shelve food. If you are in need of food for your family, you can reach the Emergency Food Pantry by calling the church office at 706-549-0000. You will be directed to the EFB voice mail. Please leave a number where you can be reached and a volunteer will get back to you with a day and time when you can receive grocery items. Food is available on an emergency basis no more than once in six months per family.

Details: We are a network of friends working to feed the ill, needy, seniors, and children of northeast Georgia. Our mission is to work toward ending hunger as part of an overall community effort to alleviate poverty. Founded in 1992, the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia began feeding the hungry with limited distribution of approximately 350,000 pounds of food to 36 agencies. Since that time we have grown tremendously distributing nearly 10.3 million pounds through 215 partner agencies in 2012. This is equivalent to 8.3 million meals. In all, we have distributed almost 81 million pounds of food or 67 million meals to northeast Georgia residents who might not know where their next meal will come from.
